As a child I was so fortunate to spend a fair amount of time in the South, and hear soul music "from the cradle." Ray Charles' music has always been part of the soundtrack of my life. Kudos to Jamie Foxx for a splendid portrayal of Ray on film. This duet was a nice try by two tremendous artists, but it certainly could have used a lot more soul and a lot less "wooptidoo." Still, it is much better than Michael Bolton's usual overdone bombast. It's always more about him than the song itself.
