Feel like you, I really want to see it in real action but the ones who have trained Aikido for real, I shure they do good against another person then student trained to take dives ^^

watch japanese and american police who are apprehending someone. some police actually take aikido to put enraged criminals and prisoners to submission.

It's not meant to be "Real" or "Fake" It's meant to give him a safe distance so that the opponent can't strike him.

Yeah I get the same sort of comments from some people and I find it's usually because this sort of thing is just totally alien to them. To study an art like this first, and fore most, you must know how to fall. Also, during an exhibition like this one, a master won't use full, combat force. After all, a master's students are the future of his style so I should hope he wouldn't want to harm them.

nope not fake. i know how to do that move. it really does work. and the reason y some of it looks fake is cuz the people that are on the recieving end know how to fall. therefore they smash themselves on the ground to keep from getting hurt :)

Well... Let's just say that you'll need to be shodan/nidan in order to execute a technique perfectly.Don't expect to be able to implement Aikido in a real life situation when you just started to practice it...

How hard is it to implement Aikido in a expected fight, not a attack situation?
