ppl think that by bouncing it some how helps alot. This is simply not true, at all. ppl hear the weights clanging and they say "o he's bouncing." u hear weights because thats 225 lbs knocking up against something. a little physics: in order for the "bounce" to have any effect that means YOUR RIBCAGE would have to exert enough force ON ITS OWN TO MOVE 225LBS. which is not possible. it "bounces" because hes letting the weight fall faster to relax his muscles wen the dont need to be primarily used.

He is going for the highest # of reps possible. That is the only thing that counts in this exercise at the combine. They couldn't care less if he bounced it up as long as he is within guidelines. It would be dumb not to get every bit of help possible when trying to rep it out.
