CountryPug: I was just thinking PRECISELY the same thing. I couldn't have said it better myself! Also, for me personally, I've never really been a fan of Porches cosmetically. After doing some research on the new 911 turbo, however, I don't give a damn what it looks like! I'll have one, thank you very much!

@Horace993: thank you for the explanation. Without a doubt, the GT-R lap times cannot be taken serious without independent tests.@MsBountiful: I personally am not afraid of the past. What frightens me sometimes is that the past can repeat itself. I agree with your statement, and I realize that you are not a dumb bloke. Times have changed, and Germans are finally able to show some patriotism after all these years. The problem is that there are too many people who are ignorant about the past.

That's the funny part, nobody was able to offer a logical explanation, Nissan just used a ringer to promote the wonder car. There are no miracles in racing, the laws of physics are the same for everybody. Bottom lane, even the old Turbo was actually faster, no independent test was able to reach Nissan claims, the Porsche times were confirmed by independent test though. So let's have the common sense to choose between fake numbers (as it happen with the previous GT-R) and the real thing.

It is only a sensitive statement to those who are too afraid of the past. The past cannot be changed and we should not be afriad to learn from past mistakes. Sorry bit I don't sprechen Deutsche.

The engineering is supreme, but is almost worthless if this car cannot beat the Nissan GT-R on the Nürburgring. I still find it hard to believe that the GT-R, weighing 400 more pounds than the Porsche Turbo, beat it by a large margin. Can anyone explain that to me?

Herr MsBountiful, although I share your enthusiasm for this brilliant car, please be careful using that sensitive phrase. Ganz bestimmt sind Sie amerikaner, oder irre ich mich?

I've just realised that I really want a Porsche. I always liked Porsches but never really wanted to own one. The 2010 Turbo and GT3 RS have completely won me over. Well done Porsche marketing team. lol

theyve tested it at 3.2 sec. porsche always understates their performance figures. same way the carrera gt was rated at 3.9 seconds, it actualy did it in 3.4

Porsche times are always understated. the real 0-100km/h for this car is 3.1 seconds. it was tested by Sport Auto magazine.

I want this particular 911 Turbo with the exact color except with cream leather. For me this is the best 911 if not the best sports car in it's class. And this is coming from someone who never really liked Porsches because of their lazy facelifts and overstated image and also a guy who prefers the underated XKR.

I think the Jaguar XKR is the Proper sports car. Front engined, rear wheel drive with a long bonnet, lightness, the go power along with superb handling; the original recipe.BUT!The Porsche is "THE ULTIMATE" sports car. It's just so much better than any of it's competitors. I never really liked Porsches. I hate them for being lazy when it comes to facelifts BUT this new facelift has completely won me over. It's just more agressive looking. It's the 1st time I wanted a Porsche this badly!
