This is the bike for you, It'll cope with 70mph with little fuss, very easy to ride, very reliable, cheap to run with good range. & looks so god damn hot. had my 09 for 10mths & never had any probs, love her to death

Nope, you're correct. Get the license, get the bike, go. There is no restriction on engine size, but a good number of the people who start on a 600 are often worse for it.

hey fellas ive been riding for only 1 year with the suzuki drz 400zm, its a dual sport. im only 5'7 and so its pretty high for me. also, after perhaps 20 minutes riding on it my ass starts to hurt.its not a powerful bike but im thinking of getting something lower and with a better seat so i can take maybe an hour ride. i dont care much about power and i want something inexpensive. can i use the 250 on the freeway? fastest i want to go is 70mph

In the UK at 16 you can get a CBT which means you can ride a 50cc scooter. Then at 17 you can apply for a proper licence, which limets you too a 125cc bike or a bike which produces less than 33BHP. That limet lasts for two years then you can have any bike.

there are no restrictions to motorcycles in the united states, as long as you are a legal driver. thats why everyone is saying its a good starter bike... for some reason in the UK you guys arent allowed bigger bikes than 125cc until youre a certain age?? i dont even think we have 125's in the US.. well atleast i havent seen one... except a dirtbike..
