Miles dont matter too much, long as its in good condition, i mean if i got a 350 id get a stroker kit and get all new internals and such. No use spending more money for a motor with parts im just going to replace anyway, lol.

hell ya. 350's are cheap as hell I need to put one in mine. Problem is finding a good one with low miles for cheap.

Thats why im glad 350 blocks are cheap. If it breaks i can just get a new one.

I don't think I'd do all that with the stock 305 bottom end. It isn't made to handle all the power you're looking to throw at it.

yeah ima get a rebuild kit which is about 500$ and strengthens it to take i think 600hp. It would prolly be like 700$ or so to get it put on though [i aint messing with the tranny]I believe the 88+ 700r4's come with some upgrades over the earlier ones, so if your Z28 is older then that I would get a junk yard one from a newer fbody and rebuild it or just use it straight up.All in all 700r4 for the win! lol

700R4 is a DAMN good tranny. my old 220K mile Z28 LB9 goes places just fine. it wont really shift into fourth too good though but a tranny rebuild here for a 700R4 is like 500$, not bad.

A 305 isent big.... a stock mustang costs how much? My car was 2700$ with 39,000 miles on it and it has full power options. And this is a Firebird it has nothing to do with a Buick and Buicks are fast. And my dad drives a F-150 if you want to know and yes hes a Ford fan.And come try to race me in 2 months im getting new heads, cam, intake and a supercharger.... so get outta here with that Mustang crap. Mustangs are girl cars, look at all the chicks driving them.

your 84 was a 305. Weak trans? was it automatic? Most of the automatics were 700r4's which are acually really good trannies i think. If it was stick... then yeh it was prolly a T5 and they kinda suck, lol.

Nice 305? I had a 84 Z28--I think it was a 307ci, one of the best cars I ever owned, week trans though, it took ATF instead of gear oil. So I ate two transmissions and one rear.
