I know of the cross ply, they are sort of like a mix between a biasply tire and a radial tire. Its biasply construction but they are crossed layers not straight layers.I am not sure what tires I will run on mine. I think she would look great with vintage reproduction biasply tires up front (blackwalls) with reproduction biasply slicks of the early 60`s M/T tires (blackwalls) with chrome rims.

Oh thats why I hate going to car shows to be honest. Everything you see is 350 this or 350 that (saw a 350 stuffed under the hood of a old Ford F1). Its the 350 and the Corvette engines. I see alot of corvette engines or atleast the corvette engine cover on 55 and 57 Belair`s.My fender emblems are the factory reproduction flagged emblems used on 327 cars. Doesnt say 327 but it looks like the corvette crossed flags.

Well really what sounds better when somebody asks which engine you have? 350, 327 302 or 283? the latter 3..., Yep I know the covers and the decals, i was even thinking of getting some side fenders ones..

Ah ok, I was thinking tire but listening a second time it sounded more like something metalic breaking over a tire going.

Yep thats why I stick with the engines even if I cant get alot of power out of it. More eye catching if taken to a show. The 283 in my 63 though I ordered reproduction 327 corvette valve covers to put on her going to wirebrush the cracked aluminum clear coat they put on them smooth them out and spray them with the same silvery aluminum engine paint I did the manifold. Was also thinking about a 375 Horsepower decal on the valve cover also. Desided on that cause I have a 56 with a Tbird engine

Yes, 350's are as common and boring as they get, thats why I still have a 283 in my 64, Altough I do have an efi 502 sitting here, but I might keep it for another car.

It's just one of the tires blowing.

But 290 hp sounds like a cheap 350. But I just dont care for the 350 to be honest. Everyone has one and a 350 isnt really a good high rpm engine like the 283 - 302 - 305 - 307 could be with their short stroke.

I saw the videos on the 64. Sounded like you blew a cylinder or snaped a axle or broke something. There was a loud snap at the end. But I can smoke my 63`s tires in first and second on the power glide if I lock the front brakes. Honestly that isnt anything special Whats special is when your able to bark the tires when accelerating and the transmission shifts.

Yeah i can't remeber was over a year ago, its meant to have 290hp stock 8.5:1 comp, Everyone thought something was wrong with it. If you look at my car the 64 belair, it smoked them into 3rd gear and its basically stock with a cam. That 350 is sold and gone now.

So your trying to tell me a stock 150 hp 350 SBC is making lots of trq but yet you didnt say how much trq even though you put it on a dyno? Sounds fishy. Either way that car had alot of trouble breaking the tires loose. Even my stock 283 rated at 195 hp in my 63 with a 3.08:1 rear axle broke the tires loose quicker than that.

We put it on a dyno and it made 100hp at the wheels, but heaps of toque, Yes very stange...

Nope not a 409, the owner stated on page 2 of the comments to me that its a 127hp 350. I was shocked that he would put that in a car that even the factory standard 283 was rated at 195hp is more powerful than the 350.

Not to mention automatic cars couldnt get any gearing from the factory close to 4.56:1. The 4.11 was only avaiable to the 4spd manual and the 4.56 was optional for the 4spd manual.
