Control is for pussies who don't know how to drive a 4500 pound beast that cranks out 450 to 650 horse across the ENTIRE RPM range, not just the precision of the 6350 rpm power band.... who wants a car that drives it self? it takes a truely good driver to handle a muscle car.... you keep relying on your damn computers to drive for you, and we'll keep enjoying our classics by driving the old fashion way.... with a steering wheel, manual clutch, gas pedal, and no ABS or 4 wheel disc brakes,

drift or no drift i would love to have fun in a viper getting sideways on a closed road dlike that

> MGS45 said on 12-06-2009 at 01:40:
thats what your supposed to do to drift. pop clutch and on and off gas. Muscles aren't used for drifting for that reason

> MGS45 said on 12-06-2009 at 01:39:
Yea I know but racer's don't drive stock cars, and Muscles are very good drifters up to certain point when the suspension gives way to the beast under the hood and all it's weight and it's weight transfer. Muscles are awesome cars but they aren't the best drifters and everybody who knows something about cars knows that tuners are the best drifters because of reliability and control. :)

@FrOsTeDmInIwHeAtSblt You are exactly right

@ltsnipe Not sure what you mean by new age muscle, these cars? Or mustangs, challengers and cameros? These cars are very capable drift platforms, but not as ideal as the popular Japanese alternatives because of the weight. Im sure cost is another big factor to take into consideration too, but heavy cars are less forgiving if you make a mistake.

ya i supported that muscles should be used to drift. i know team falken uses a stang. its wicked. they also use a dodge charger

> Tboninator said on 12-04-2009 at 07:44:
Muscles can't drift? Muscles INVENTED drifting! Muscle cars were essentially the first widely available performance vehicles, and they had more than enough power to get sideways. As it stands American cars are dominating the drift series, just as they are every other aspect of racing- straight lines, track, drift, EVERYTHING.

@ltsnipe then why do they use mustangs and vipers,,well team Falken uses a stang...but lots use vipers ans r very successful...

hhheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllllllllllllll naw just keep searching i saw this dodge viper green just start with dodge viper crashing green color dodge, and you would find this guy man handle drifting like if he personaly made the road and the viper so hell naw the viper can drift perfect.

> ltsnipe said on 12-02-2009 at 04:16:
yes very true, but now remember, you are talking about aftermarket parts, stock for stock, new age muscle difts way better than 370 stock. but you put aftermarket parts on both cars and put a proffesional drifter in each cockpit, you probably would be able to tell the difference. know what i mean?

> FrOsTeDmInIwHeAtSblt said on 12-02-2009 at 01:25:
the reason why they spin out half the time is because when they start to slide they stop putting power to the ground and it stops carrying out the drift. towards the end they started to get it when they would shift down and pop the clutch at the start of the turn and continue to give it throttle thoughout the turn. nice cars. cars can drift. drivers dont really know what they are doing. especially with that much horsepower, you stop feeding the engine the cars going to spin out every time

> MGS45 said on 12-01-2009 at 22:52:
Not really, the car usually goes into spin because of low traction, average brakes and crappy suspension. There is a reason why tuners like Nissan and Toyota's are used in drifting competitions and racing is because it has way better handling, allowing you to hug corners. Muscles are built with acceleration and speed in mind.I love muscles like the viper, but even some NASCAR drivers use the same chassies and suspensions as some Nissans like Mark Martin he uses the Nissan 370zx suspension parts.

> ltsnipe said on 12-01-2009 at 02:26:
nah man, new age muscle do better drifts than any other low platform rice rocket. you just need to be a much better driver to control the throttle input and power because the vehicle is much faster

> MGS45 said on 12-01-2009 at 00:32:
I'm sorry but muscles can't drift, you need a Nissan 240sx or S platforms to do that. :) nice vid bte
